We are seeing a lot of styles and designs in this trend. Some cholis have loose fabric attached to the front which is like a semi-dupatta on each shoulder. While some have long pieces of cloth to give the illusion of the length of the dupatta.

The belt

Suits, belts from sarees to lehengas to Anarkali are everywhere in the Indian fashion scene in 2020. In fact, we started seeing belted sarees back in 2016, and come this year, they are still not the # 2 trend. So there are belts to stay here.

Go for metallic belts over your loose kurtas and pair them with matching lehengas. Or put an embellished belt to keep your dupatta with your lehenga or Anarkali. Again, this is not an entirely new trend. Draped outfits were also # 1 in Indian fashion trends in 2018, but they are still going stronger than ever. Draped outfits wear them again, in which the fabric is not only cut and sewn but draped in a unique way to give the look of dupatta or pleats.

Peplum

Peplum tops are those that have a belted structure and flare out at the waist. I like peplums very much because they make the waist narrow by adding volume to the hips. Peplum top has made its rightful place in the latest fashion trends in India with its unique look. Peplums look feminine without showing any skin, so they work perfectly for Indian occasions when you want to dress more modestly.

Flounce sleeves

When any Indian dress is sewn, we always wonder if we should go with sleeves or sleeveless. However, you will not have to go for a saree blouse and lehenga cholis with boring old sleeves. Ethnic Indian outfits with a three-dimensional, playful twist that every celeb is wearing this season.

Caps have a top trend, long, floor-sweeping capes with lehengas or saris. If not, go for a crop-cape jacket with saree. For more casual outfits, you can go for hip-long capes with trousers. Or try a waist-length cape with dhoti pants or a long skirt.

Appliqué

Appliquéd dresses are as hot and trendy as ever. Appliqué is the type of surface work in which flowers or other patterns are cut and sewn onto fabric. This trend has been in the Indian fashion scene for almost four years and is still making a strong statement. This is why it is one of the chicest styles in our Indian fashion forecast 2020.

We saw appliqué on lehenga skirts and cholis, sari pallu, gowns, crop tops, and dupattas. This style is a great choice for cocktails or evening parties as it creates a beautiful 3D appearance with shadows of flowers, feathers, and whatnot. We saw fringes on the sleeve of Cholis, Kurtis, and blouses and Hemlines, which looks sexy without very revealing more skin you. You can feel the back with a shoulder fringe with strapless cholis, a backless sari blouse. Or try a suit with sheer churidar and fringed Kurti to hide the thigh area.
